Strategy related projects

  • Established group responsible for strategic systems architecture.  Managed 30 staff, $6.5 million budget.

  • Developed 3 year plan for systems organizations that included conversion from mainframe to client/server technology.  Implemented tracking methodology for initiatives to plan. 

Process related projects

  • Implemented business resumption for CA Telecommunications publisher plus Branch and ATM systems for a major bank during 1989 San Francisco earthquake.

  • Directed corporate-wide Y2K project management office.  Managed 50 personnel, $50 million budget.

  • Instituted change management and system development lifecycle processes to stabilize systems and operations allowing rapid growth.  Upgraded change control audit results from unacceptable to satisfactory.   

  • Designed and implemented nationwide imaging system upgrade for international brokerage company increasing system "up time" to 99.99%.

Personnel related projects

  • Managed effort to stabilize workforce ensuring availability of skills and business knowledge for tight delivery timeframes.  Implemented training plan to bring skill sets up to new technologies and ensured that all personnel had performance plans and that reviews were done on time.  Achieved employee attrition of <10%, even during dotcom boom.

  • Integrated credit card technology areas, bringing 7 separate technology organizations together over 3 years.  Instituted identical processes and controls across all areas; ensured technologies were consistent and created strategy to migrate to common platforms.
